Does this sound like your child?

The signs are quiet. The potential is not.

Most young people do not say they are struggling. It shows up in the moments they hold back, the things they leave unsaid and the opportunities they quietly let pass.

  • Lacks confidence or struggles to believe in themselves

  • Finds it hard to speak up or express their needs

  • Navigates friendships, belonging or social challenges

  • Holds back from opportunities or leadership roles

  • Questions their identity, direction or sense of purpose

If you recognised your child in even one of these, nothing is wrong with them. They simply have not been given the space and language to work it out yet.

How mentoring helps

Through thoughtful conversations and practical mentoring.

Every conversation is shaped around where your young person is today, creating a mentoring experience that evolves alongside their growth.

What they gain

  • Confidence in their voice and self-expression
  • Greater self-awareness and self-respect
  • Clarity of strengths, values and identity
  • Stronger communication and relationships
  • Resilience and emotional maturity
  • Courage to take on leadership opportunities
  • A sense of direction and possibility
  • The ability to be themselves, with confidence
It is not about fixing your child. It is about helping them see who they already are and believing in who they are becoming.

Is this right for your child?

Why Families Choose Private Mentoring

Mentoring works best when a young person is ready to be met. These are the signals that the timing is right.

This may be right for your child if they

  • Have potential but need confidence to express it
  • Want opportunities but are unsure how to step forward
  • Are developing their voice or identity
  • Need support navigating change or challenges
  • Are exploring leadership, ambition or direction
  • Would value a trusted mentoring space outside family and school

Recommended for young people aged 12 to 18. Appropriate consent required.

Get Started

A personalised mentoring journey

Every mentoring experience is individually designed.

Every young person arrives with different strengths, experiences and goals.

Following a parent consultation, Alysha recommends a personalised mentoring pathway designed around what will best support your young person's growth.

The number of sessions and investment are discussed after the consultation, once the most appropriate level of support has been identified.

Safe and trusted mentoring

I hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and am committed to creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment for young people and their families.

Questions parents ask

Before you begin, the things worth knowing.

Who is this experience for?

One young person aged 12 to 18. It suits those who have potential but need confidence to express it, who are developing their voice or identity, or who would value a trusted mentoring space outside family and school.

Is this therapy or counselling?

No. This is mentoring. The focus is on self-awareness, communication, strengths and confidence rather than clinical support. If your child needs therapeutic care, mentoring can sit alongside it but does not replace it.

How involved am I as a parent?

You are part of both ends. The experience opens with a 30 minute consultation with you to understand your child, their strengths and your hopes, and closes with a 30 minute session to reflect on growth and next steps. The sessions in between are private to your child, which is what makes them work.

What actually happens in the sessions?

60 minute one to one sessions with Alysha, following a plan shaped around your child's needs, strengths and goals. Through thoughtful conversation and practical mentoring they learn to ask better questions of themselves and build the language to say what they need.

How is scheduling arranged?

By mutual availability. Times and format are confirmed with you during the opening consultation, and appropriate consent is required before sessions begin.

What if my child is unsure about it?

That is common and it is not a problem. Most young people arrive uncertain about what mentoring even is. The first session is about building trust, not performance, and nothing is asked of them before they are ready.
